Athletics Coaching
We offer performance level athletics coaching for ages 11 to adult. The coaching is specific to
your age and stage of training and will follow the correct long term development. We will help
you achieve your full athletic potential. Our focus is on long term gains, correct development
and achieving your highest possible level.
We also offer regular combined events group coaching.
The coaching ensures you get individual attention and work on the areas you need to develop.
We focus on your development stage to make sure you progress appropriately dependant on
your level and age. We strongly believe everyone can enjoy sport and exercise and we
provide a supportive environment to make this possible. Anyone of any ability can train with
us, providing they have the right level of commitment.
The coaching is provided by Matt who is an experienced performance level athletics coach.
He is also a level 4 strength and conditioning coach, youth strength and conditioning
specialist, personal trainer and triathlon coach. He coaches athletes of all ages who compete
at National and World age group level. Matt regularly works with elite level coaches and
athletes to continue expanding his skills and experience. He will provide you with the highest
level of coaching.

Individual and Small Group Coaching
We offer private individual and small group coaching for all ages (for masters specific coaching
please click here) covering the combined events and most individual specialisations. We offer
technique coaching and strength and conditioning specific to your age and event/s. You don’t need
to be a member of a club or currently be training in athletics or have even been to an athletics track
before. The amazing thing about athletics is everyone can find an event they enjoy and all levels are
welcome.
Strength and conditioning helps with athletics for many reasons. It isn’t just about lifting weights but
also agility, mobility and motor skills. It helps reduce the chance of getting injured by working on
your body’s ability to deal with the forces you will face. It makes your events easier and improves
your performance as getting stronger means you produce more force which means less effort and
more power and speed. Your posture will improve as your core and trunk gets stronger. It is such a
beneficial area for all athletics events.
Our strength and conditioning training is specific to you and your aims and ability. It takes place in
our exclusive studio or outdoor training area in Eastington near to Junction 13 of the M5.
The event technique work will take place at our outdoor training area and Blackbridge Jubilee
athletics track off Podsmead Road in Gloucester dependent on what we’re working on.
Event technique is very important as it doesn’t matter how strong or fit you are if you can’t do the
event technically well, you’ll never perform to your full potential. Bad technique can also be a cause
of injuries and pain. Good technique means you’re efficient, won’t waste energy and use the forces
you create correctly, which improves your performance.
In addition to your training we can provide detailed training plans. You will receive a long term plan
which will give an overview of your whole training period up to the start of your event and throughout
your training season. You will receive weekly plans with each session written in detail for you to
carry out. These will be reviewed on a weekly basis making sure you are meeting your aims.
Training plan prices vary and are based on the number of weeks you require one for. Please discuss
this at your initial meeting.
Prices
1 hour strength and conditioning and coaching sessions
1 hour - £32
Pay for 10 x 1 hour sessions in advance
for only £275, that’s only £27.50 per session
Off peak rates - Train between 10am and 2pm (Mon to Fri, term time) and save
off our usual rates.
Pay for 10 x 1 hour sessions off peak in advance for only £250, that’s
only £25 per session
Sessions will be in our exclusive studio or outdoor training area or around the
local area depending on the training.
Track sessions - our track sessions are an additional £5 per person payable per
session to cover the cost of the track use.
Longer sessions are available, please ask for details.
Training plans - prices vary and are based on the number of weeks you require.
